These models are part of a project I've had in mind for years - to paint models to represent each of the original 20 (well 18 that we know) Space Marine Legions. They're painted based on the colour schemes given in the Index Astartes books, and are modelled using a mix of Codex and Chaos marine parts to make them appear more like marines from the Great Crusade / Horus Heresy era. Once I've finished with the Legions, I also plan to convert models to represent some other forces and characters from that era such as the Legio Custodes, Sisters of Silence and Dark Mechanicus.
